The Adult Choir meets most Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m, but does not meet during the summer.

Anyone middle school age or above who would like participate are invited to join us!

In February of 2006, we adopted an "Open Choir" format, and have had great success using this format!

What is “Open Choir” format you ask?

If you enjoy sitting with your family at Sunday services and don’t want to give up that quality time – you can still sing in the choir and enjoy your family time as well! All we ask is that you come to rehearsals on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. (even the most gifted musicians need rehearsals). On Sundays, sit with your family during the service (no robe required), then come up to the choir section when it is time to sing the anthem, join in with your musical talents, and when the anthem is over, return to your seat in the congregation to spend the rest of the service with your family.

Currently the choir has approximately 17 members who share their gifts of voice and music at Sunday worship, some stay in the choir section during the service to help lead in the hymns, others enjoy the time sitting with their family during worship.

How often does the Adult Choir sing?

The adult choir does not sing every Sunday, so that we have the opportunity to welcome other musical talent in the church to be the anthem at a Service. There is a schedule posted in the choir room so that all members know what Sundays the adults sing.

Do I have to be a member of the choir in order to provide music for a service?

Not at all, although if you have musical talent we are always looking for additional help in the choir! You can sign up to be the anthem on the “Music Volunteer” Calendar located in the Choir Room. The calendar sits on the music stand in front of the piano. Sign up on any open Sunday listed. On that Sunday, you will be anthem for the service – it’s that simple!

Who is in charge of the adult choir?

Currently the adult choir is being lead in musical coordination and consultation by Kathy Lingo and Nancy Bowman. Our new keyboardist, Lynn Graham, began in July 2008 and brings amazing musical talent to share with our congregation. Brandi Jason and Jill Keasel volunteered on the Clavinova since 2006.

What exactly does the Adult Choir do for each service besides the anthems when scheduled?

The adult choir continues to provide soloists for cantoring and leads the congregation in every hymn, even on Sundays when they don’t provide the anthem.

Come Join Us on Thursday evenings and Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord.

Senior Choir Schedule
