Computer Donation Program - This request comes from Suzanne Adams. Her father, Bill Ruehl, has developed the Frederick Rotary Club Computer Project, which has committed itself to providing home computers with filtered internet access to students attending the West Frederick Middle School. This school has a large percentage of disadvantaged youngsters without access to computers or the internet. The goal of the program is to level the playing field for these students in economic distress. For more details on the program, including technical specs of computers required and what will be done with them, contact the church office or email Bill Ruehl at wruehl@aol.com. Donations are tax deductible and will greatly benefit these students.

Mar-Lu-Ridge is a Christian Conference & Educational Center in Jefferson, MD. They offer overnight camp for kids (aged 6-16), for families (all ages) and adults (55+). Soup Kitchen - Thanks to all who helped out with the June 24, 2000, Soup Kitchen at the Church of the Brethren in Westminster. Due to the generosity of all who provided food, money and service, we were able to provide meals for approximately 50 patrons and still sent leftovers home with them! We will be serving again on Saturday, September 16, 2000. See the sign-up sheet at the church or contact the church office.
Electronic Transfer of Funds is Here! - Holy Spirit has enrolled in a new program to allow our members to give their offering electronically. Many of us use a similar program to pay our mortgages, car payments and utility bills. Now your gifts to God can be made the same way. The program is called "Simply Giving" and is offered to us by Lutheran Brotherhood at no cost to Holy Spirit or our members. For your convenience, some information on this program has been placed in each family's mailbox in the narthex. Details and applications are also available by contacting the church office.
